J.M. van Rees is Editor in Chief of 4S. He is currently finishing his medical study and is doing research at the Surgical Oncology Department at the Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam. His main research subjects are colorectal and pelvic cancer.

M.J.A.M. Bakens MD, PhD
M.J.A.M. Bakens is editor of 4S. He works as a resident (in training) at the department of surgery at Maastricht University Medical Center, Maastricht. He finished his PhD in 2019 titled 'Variation in pancreatic cancer care in The Netherlands'.
