What is 4P

4P stands for 4Plastics; it’s a free email service that brings you a weekly update of the latest clinical and review abstracts published in 3 prominent general plastic surgery journals, complemented by the Journal of Hand Surgery. Issues are supplemented by important articles related to plastic surgery from other 4Abstracts divisions. Our issues are spread out over each month and contain 4 themes: Reconstructive, Hand & Upper extremity, Cosmetic, and Miscellaneous. /O.C.%20van%20Varsseveld%20<sup>MD,%20PhD</sup>
Dr. Otis C. van Varsseveld is Editor-in-Chief of 4P. He attained a PhD in surgery at the University Medical Center Groningen. During his PhD, he conducted a research fellowship in hand and peripheral nerve surgery at Harvard Medical School & Massachusetts General Hospital. Currently, he works as a resident (not in training) in plastic surgery at Leiden University Medical Center.
/T.%20ter%20Beek%20<sup>BSc</sup>
Tycho ter Beek is editor of 4P for the Hand & Upper Extremity issue. He is currently working as a Research Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and is expected to complete his medical degree at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in early 2027.
/T.%20Aarts%20<sup>BSc</sup>
Ties Aarts is an editor of 4P. He studies medicine at Radboud University in Nijmegen and works as a student-researcher at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery at Radboud University Medical Center.
